York House Construction in administration

YORKSHIRE construction company York House Construction has gone into administration.

The business, which is headquartered in Brompton on Swale near Richmond with a satellite office in Leeds, has 100 staff but it is unclear whether any staff have been affected by the move.

Hunter Kelly and Charles King of Ernst & Young have been appointed as joint administrators to York House Construction, which was earlier this month appointed to construct two medical centres for the Oakapple Group in a contract worth around £8.5m.

Mr King said: “We are currently assessing the status of live development contracts, which are all located in Yorkshire and the North East. We have received several expressions of interest that we will be exploring further.”

The company has nine live contracts.

Earlier this year, York House Construction said it expected to turnover in excess of £45m this year.

The company was established in 2000 by founders Andrew Bruce and Frank Kofler.

Building activities include new build, refurbishment and alternations/extension works in most market sectors ranging from £500,000 to £10m.

Clients have included Priority Sites, Landmark Development Projects and Yorvale Properties.
