Appointments: New chairman for JF Finnegan; Reed Boardall appoints group accountant

PHILIP Ryan, chairman of Sheffield-based contracting and development company JF Finnegan, has announced his retirement.

Mr Ryan will hand over the reins to long-standing colleague and former commercial director Philip Hollister.

Mr Ryan joined JF Finnegan in 1995 and was appointed chairman in 1999. He is also a director of parent company Headcrown, a role which he will continue to uphold.

During his time as chairman, Mr Ryan has overseen the completion of some of the region’s most significant regeneration development projects including the 58 acre Sheffield Parkway Business Park, the 722 Prince of Wales office building, the creation of the Sandvik European Centre of Excellence at Beighton Link Business Park and the redevelopment of Wards Exchange.

Mr Hollister has spent his entire working career with JF Finnegan, having joined as a school-leaver.

JF Finnegan has also appointed Nick Gillott and Gary Smith to its board of directors.

ACCOUNTANT Julie Dove has joined cold storage and distribution firm Reed Boardall.

Ms Dove, who previously worked as a finance manager for a group of nursing homes in Harrogate, joins the Boroughbridge company as group accountant.

She takes over the role from Judith Ulanowski, who has retired.

Ms Dove will be responsible for producing monthly management accounts and overseeing all accounting procedures throughout the group.

KEVIN McKee has been welcomed on board at Yorkshire Bank’s Doncaster-based Financial Solutions Centre (FSC).

He joins the business development team and will support local enterprises who want to take up the bank’s Investing for Growth initiative launched this summer.

Mr McKee joins from GBAC accountants and business advisers in Barnsley, where he was a director and also worked closely with Business Link Yorkshire on delivering its financial health checks to small enterprises.

Before that he spent 30 years with Barclays Bank in Sheffield, providing business banking services throughout South Yorkshire.
