Industrial park set for £50m redevelopment

PROPERTY developer Celsius Parc is investing £50m in the refurbishment of a dilapidated industrial estate over the next three years.

The firm has already invested £1m in the self-titled scheme and is aiming to attract businesses across the food production and logistics sectors.

The former Foxhills Industrial Estate fell into disrepair after landowner Innovate Logistics entered administration in 2008.

Celsius purchased the Scunthorpe site in April 2014, and the investment made so far has repaired roads and groundwork, managed utilities and improved site security.

Jonathan Gagg at Celsius Parc said: “When the opportunity to purchase the former Foxhills Industrial Estate became available, we saw a great opportunity to create an integrated food business park that would help to create synergies between similar local businesses.

“As the landlord, we are committed to providing reliable, modern, and maintained infrastructure services for the optimum operation of each individual business.”

Amanda Cogan, operations director at cold store operator Rick Bestwick North, which is a tenant at the business park said: “We’re really pleased with how the site is performing since the refurbishment and feel that we now have a secure long-term home at Celsius Parc.

“It would be great to be neighboured by similar businesses and be part of a community of like-minded organisations.”

The regenerated site has eight acres of development space which is suitable for warehousing, food processing, food packing and coldstore operations.
