Taste of success as Fazenda makes major investment

FAZENDA, the South American-style restaurant which started in Leeds, has expanded with a significant investment in its Granary Wharf site.

The owners of the eatery have invested £500,000 in the refurbishment of the flagship Leeds restaurant.

There are 40 more covers after the expansion which brings the space of Fazenda to 6,500 sq ft, with the special addition of two new 10-cover private dining rooms.

The original restaurant, launched by entrepreneur Tomas Maunier, a Brazilian-Argentinian dual national and his partners, Robert Melman, Terence Langley and Jonathan Drake, has been located on site for four years.

Mr Maunier said: “Our new investment in our Leeds restaurant is based on the growing strength of Granary Wharf as a destination with a high quality offer.

“Since our launch in Leeds, Fazenda has evolved and it was time for Yorkshire people to enjoy our development as a brand and as an experience.

“We are taking the Leeds restaurant to the next level, that people in the city and West Yorkshire deserve.

“They love us here and they have helped build our brand. It’s thanks to them that we have expanded, and so we will always view Leeds as our spiritual home.”

From Granary Wharf, Fazenda opened new sites in Liverpool and Manchester, off the back of the success of the original restaurant in Leeds.

The restaurant offers a selection of 15 grilled meats inspired by the culinary experiences in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Fazenda has also launched vegan and vegetarian menus.
