Architecture firm draws up growth plans after strong year

A LEEDS architecture firm has outlined ambitious targets to double its turnover in the next five years.

The announcement comes as Watson Batty Achitects, which has seen turnover increase to £4m this year, launches new branding and gears up to celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2016.

Peter White, managing director at Watson Batty Architects, said: “We are delighted to report that we have maintained strong performance through the post-recession period. As we approach 40 years in practice we felt that it was appropriate to review our brand values and bring forth the attributes that have brought us success to date.

“Looking ahead, we see a strong pipeline of projects coming to fruition and have plans to invest heavily in developing our team expertise and technological capabilities. We are projecting a steady trading increase of around 20% year on year over the next five years.”

Watson Batty Architects operates nationally with offices in Leeds and Loughborough and employs 50 people. Its sector expertise is widespread and includes, commercial, industrial, distribution, education, leisure, residential, retail and transport.

With established long term relationships the practice has worked continually for over 25 years with key ‘blue chip’ clients such as Royal Mail and Wm Morrison Supermarkets to deliver through frameworks and partnering.

Watson Batty Architects is also delivering a number of significant capital projects for Universities including Huddersfield, Bradford, Sheffield Hallam, York St John and Liverpool Hope, as well as local authority leisure centres in Newark and Washington.

Mr White added: “The success of the practice is also clearly due to the dedication and commitment of our team and we are actively recruiting key people to support long term growth as we move into an exciting future.”
