Keeping it in the family as dental business changes hands

A DENTAL surgery business has been kept in the family after funding from The Royal Bank of Scotland allowed the owner’s daughter to take over the firm.

The Southfield Dental Practice in Doncaster has been taken over by Laura Wright and her partner Luke Rittuci from Ms Wright’s father, dentist David Wright.

Located at 31 Southfield Road in Thorne, Doncaster, The Southfield Dental Practice is a predominantly NHS surgery which offers a range of high quality routine dentistry services as well as teeth whitening.

RBS has supported the costs of the deal with an undisclosed loan.

Laura Wright, owner of The Southfield Dental Practice said: “Luke and I are really pleased that we have been able to take over our family business.

“I have worked in the practice for my father for six years and Luke has worked here since 2012, so we both know the operation inside out and have a great relationship with our customers.

“The support we have received from our patients and other stakeholders during the takeover process has also been fantastic. RBS has been brilliant. Their funding, along with their expertise in the industry, has made this a very smooth process.”

Neil Brownrigg, healthcare manager at RBS said: “I am really pleased that we have been able to help Laura and Luke achieve their ambitions of running the family business.

“They are both well-known and respected within the industry and local community, and we wish them the best of luck with the future of the practice.”
