Unusual sites across Yorkshire up for auction

MORE than 60 lots will go up for auction at Elland Road, including an assortment of unusual properties.

Amongst them is the grade-II listed property at St Ann’s Tower on Kirkstall Lane in Headingley. It is the former home of Victorian industrialist Colonel Thomas Harding, founder of Tower Works in Holbeck , which was the largest factory of its kind in the 1800’s producing pins for the textile industry.

A telephone repeater station near Tadcaster is also being sold at the auction. Formerly used by BT, the telecoms giant is selling off many of its rural repeaters.

The rest of the 62 lots consist of vacant and tenanted properties, commercial properties and development land across the North of England .

Robert Limbert, director and auctioneer at Eddisons, said: “The beauty of such a large auction from a buyer’s perspective is the diversity of lots available, both in Leeds and right across the north of England.

“The wide range of properties and land on offer – and an average guide price of just £80,000 – means there may be some real bargains to be had and we expect a high volume of interest and bidding activity.”

The auction will be held by Eddisons at Elland Road Stadium on 10 September .
