Sugar factory on sale with a £5m pricetag

THE British Sugar Factory in Brigg is on the market, with a potential 478,000 sq ft of industrial space.
The derelict remains of the former factory have been demolished and real estate advisor Savills has given the site a guide price of £5m.
The mixed-use development land extends to 4.44 million sq ft site includes 1.66 million sq ft of space zoned for employment use. This could provide up to 478,000 sq ft of new industrial space across numerous buildings.
Glanford Brigg Power Station and the straw-fired Brigg Renewable Energy Plant, which is currently under construction, are both located nearby.
Dave Robinson, industrial director at Savills, said: “This major site is very well-connected and would be suitable for a wide range of industrial uses. With scope for further rural and residential use, subject to planning, it also offers significant future development potential.”
