World’s biggest business card, made in Yorkshire

ONLINE printing company Instantprint has broken the official Guinness world record for creating the biggest business card.

Measuring 2.3 metres by 1.5 metres,it is 728 times the area of a normal business card, according to the firm.

It had to withstand the normal requirements of a business card, and be passed from person to person, and clearly display contact details and company information.

They succeeded at their record attempt at their premises on Manvers Way in Rotherham, Yorkshire.

The card was initially measured by independent chartered surveyor, Gavin Sampson from Inform Surveying.

The attempt was then verified by Guinness World Records adjudicator, Pravin Patel, to ensure it met the standards required to make a new record.

Co-owner at Instantprint, James Kinsella said: “What better way to celebrate our recent move to larger premises and investment in the very latest printing technology, than to demonstrate we can print just about anything!

“It was a challenge finding just the right material to print on, to make sure the card could be held easily without bending. Once we’d trialled a few methods, we printed and measured them multiple times to make sure they were perfect.

“It was a real relief to receive the certificate from Guinness themselves, after months of planning from our team. I think it’s a childhood dream for most people to achieve a world record and we’ll definitely be displaying our certificate proudly.”
