Vehicle leasing group AMT invests in newest base

VEHICLE leasing firm AMT Group has invested more than £1m in a purpose-built 12,000sq ft rental facility near Stockport as it expands in the region.

The Leeds-based company’s investment in the new base in Stockport has created around 25 jobs.

Based Located on the S:Park development next to the M60, the new facility features a full customer reception, an indoor valet area, extensive customer parking and houses a fleet of 150 vehicles.

It is the seventh branch in AMT’s nationwide network and supports its plans to expand in the rental market in the region.

Managing director Neil McGawley said: “Having this year celebrated our 20th anniversary, we are well-established within the niche prestige and specialist vehicle rental sector and, with more than 1,500 vehicles, we have the largest independent fleet in the UK and plan to double the fleet size over the next 18 months.

“2015 marked another key stage in our development as we re-located our head office to larger purpose-built premises in Leeds.

“This latest investment in the North West will further strengthen our position, enabling us to better cover the region and, crucially, to provide rental services for developing markets at both Manchester and Liverpool Airports.”
