Private sector support for city region at world’s largest property event

PRIVATE sector support continues to get behind Leeds City Region’s presence at the world’s largest property and investment event, which takes place next month.
Five businesses – motorway service area investor and operator Extra MSA Group, developers Harworth Estates and Bruntwood, agents Savills, and consultants Curtins – have joined the city region’s headline sponsor Thorpe Park Leeds, in supporting the MIPIM activity.
MIPIM is an annual international conference in Cannes that brings together investors, developers, local and national authorities, and property professionals, and is seen as a platform to raise a region’s profile and to attract inward investment.
The city region’s activity during MIPIM, which takes place from March 15-18, will be focused on a programme of panel discussions and breakfast briefings around smart growth for the region. It will also contribute to a collaborative Northern Powerhouse strand alongside other northern cities.
Roger Marsh, chairman of Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (LEP), said: “The property sector across the city region has experienced a real renaissance over the last 12 months, with new developments, deals and occupier announcements making headlines on an almost daily basis.
“The cranes on our skyline are tangible evidence that Leeds City Region is an attractive investment location.”
Craig Burrow, regional director at Bruntwood, added: “With work now underway on City House and 3 Sovereign Square, our two new developments in Leeds city centre, it is an important year for us and I look forward to seeing and supporting the city and region being represented internationally.”
