Arnold Laver opens £4m development

ARNOLD Laver Timber World has officially opened a new depot in Sheffield following a £4m redevelopment.

The timber firm has relocated to Little London Road from its nearby Chesterfield Road premises.

Arnold Laver chairman David Laver unveiled a plaque at the new site to mark the opening, which the company said had continued its improvements to its Sheffield facilities.

Barry Boulby, general manager at Arnold Laver’s Little London Road site, said: “The official opening marks the start of an exciting time for the company and follows a major redevelopment by the organisation, highlighting its commitment to industry in South Yorkshire.

“The site has undergone a £4m transformation, changing it from an old warehouse into a modern site, which includes an extensive kitchen and bathroom showroom.

“It will enable Arnold Laver to offer more products to both members of the public and trade, while providing opportunities for further growth.”

Arnold Laver’s new depot will stock a range of building products to meet all the requirements for the trade, while continuing to house a large selection of hardwoods, softwoods and flooring. Little London Road will also be home to a selection of doors, windows and stairs.

Last year Arnold Laver opened a brand new headquarters on Bramall Lane following a multi-million redevelopment and in 2002 launched a 16-acre flagship national distribution facility in Mosborough.

Arnold Laver’s £110m turnover Timber World division has grown to become one of the largest timber merchants in the UK with 13 branches across the country, stocking a wide range of softwoods, hardwoods, sheet materials, laminates, joinery products, kitchens and building products for nationwide delivery or collection.

In addition, Timber World offers a wide range of other services including machining, panel cutting, timber treatment and fabrication.
