Sales growth and acquisitions boost Arco revenue

ACQUISITIONS and large customer contracts helped boost revenue at safety specialist Arco, with sales up 5.6% to £283.2m.

In the 12 months to June 2015, organic growth of 3.8% was boosted by acquisitions acquisitions in the year. Operating profit climbed 5.2% to £16.2m.

Its latest results build on success in its previous year, which saw record turnover growth of 7.6% to £268.2m and and operating profit up 10% to £15.4m.

Hull-based Arco acquired height safety and confined space specialist Total Access for £10m . The firm has contributed £4.8m turnover and £600,000 profit since joining the group.

Sales growth was driven by consolidation of large customer contract wins and investment in brand and marketing activities, Arco said.

Since the end of the financial year in June, Arco completed the sale and lease-back of its National Distribution Centre in July.

The deal was completed two months after announcing a £4m expansion of the centre . Arco said the cash realised by the sale will be invested in business growth.

The group has also added another company to its stable, taking over Cheshire-based Confined Space Training Services in July 2015 .
