1. Columbia Theadneedle World Triathlon

Date: Saturday 11th June – Sunday 12th June
Location: Various routes in Leeds

The inaugural Columbia Threadneedle World Triathlon Leeds held this weekend will provide more than 5,000 recreational triathletes with a unique opportunity to compete on the same course as the world’s best.

The event hopes to attract thousands of spectators to watch both the amateurs and the professionals – including home heroes Ali and Jonny Brownlee who will be competing in the event.

Location: Scampston Estate, Malton

With the weather looking up this week, this all day fair could be a great way to spend your Sunday whether you’re a vintage lover, fashionista or are looking for a fun family day out. Vintage cars, stalls, food, music, rides and a classic car rally of up to 200 cars.

There will be numerous marquees with vintage stalls, vintage tearoom and food, live singing, dancing, children’s area, picnic spots. There will also be covered areas if the weather isn’t so kind

North Yorkshire Moors National Park3. Navigate your way around Yorkshire’s national park

Date: 10:00am – 4pm Saturday 11th June
Location: Yorkshire Dales Guides, Stainforth, Settle

If you’re up for an adventure embracing the outdoors this weekend, then this day is for you. Whilst learning how to navigate, you will also be taught some first aid and how to deal with emergencies.

4.Knaresborough Bed Race

Date: Saturday June 11

The Great Knaresborough Bed Race is back again. The event draws in crowds of spectators and is part fancy dress pageant and part gruelling time trial over a 2.4 mile course, ending with a swim through the icy waters of the River Nidd.

From 1 pm, led by the winning decorated team, the teams parade in all their finery through the medieval streets of Knaresborough to Conyngham Hall before the race starts.

5. Doc Fest

Date: Friday 10th June – Wednesday 15th June
Location: Various venues in Sheffield city centre

One of the world’s leading documentary festivals is back this year and welcomes naturalist Sir David Attenborough as a guest speaker for the first time. 30,000 documentary makers and enthusiasts are expected to attend this year’s festival celebrating the art and business of documentary.

6. Yorkshire Cosplay Convention

Location: Sheffield Arena

If you’re passionate about Anime, Cosplay, Comic Books, Sci-Fi and Video Gaming, then Sheffield Arena is the only place you should be this weekend.  With a free face painting, balloon modelling and a kids cosplay competition, the weekend is family friendly and has amazing selfie opportunities with recognisable props from your favourite tv shows, games and films.
