Leeds set to dazzle this Bonfire Night

THIS year’s bonfire night is set to be as lively as ever with half a dozen public bonfires taking place in Leeds alone.
Leeds City Council have organised six free bonfires on Friday November 4 in and around various locations in Leeds including the main firework display which is to be held at Roundhay Park.
Leeds’ biggest and most popular bonfire – which attracts almost 70,000 visitors every year – will be lit at 7.30pm and will be followed by a large firework display at 8pm.
Smaller bonfire night events will also be taking place at East End Park, Springhead Park, Woodhouse Moor, Middleton Park and Bramley Park with the bonfire itself due to be lit at 7pm. The fireworks will begin at 7:30pm at all five parks.
Visitors to each of the council’s bonfires have been strongly encouraged to leave their own fireworks and sparklers at home and enjoy the entertainment provided by the council.
Leeds City Council’s executive member for environment and sustainability, Councillor Lucinda Yeadon said: “All of our public bonfires offer a safe and fun environment that people of all ages can enjoy, and as always we would anyone who is wishing to attend to make sure they arrive early so they do not miss out on the festivities.”
