People: Healthcare and property specialist re-joins RBS; Expansion for architecture firm; and more

The Royal Bank of Scotland has hired Mike Hackett as director of the real estate and healthcare team for the Yorkshire and North East region.

Hackett will be based at the bank’s office on Sovereign Street in Leeds and is responsible for managing a team of relationship managers and directors located across the region in offices in Leeds, Newcastle, Hull and Sheffield.

He has extensive banking experience having worked in the industry for 22 years and knowledge of the healthcare and real estate arena combined with a track record of delivering financial solutions to SMEs and corporates.

Hackett re-joins the bank from Santander, where he held the role of regional director of business development for the North.

Fibre Architects has recruited Jess WormaldHuddersfield architecture firm Fibre Architects has recruited Jess Wormald as architectural technology assistant.

Wormald is currently studying architectural technology at Sheffield Hallam University and will be completing a placement year at Fibre.

In her role she will be in charge of helping the architectural design team with the preparation of supporting drawings and technical information.

Managing Director of Fibre Architects Martin Booker said: “Already Jess has made a great impression here and she’s got a lot of potential. At Fibre, we are a relatively small team so it’s really important we have the right staff on board and we prefer to employ local people. Jess shares our passion for providing the best quality innovative design and we’re really excited to see her develop over her time here.”

Allan Booth Bradford Property ForumBradford Property Forum has a new chairman.  

Allan Booth of Rance Booth Smith architects has taken over the running of the networking and lobby group from Chartback Developments’ Steve McManus.

Booth will lead the group for the next two years, taking charge of networking events, steering group meetings and co-ordinating the overall direction of the business group.  

The Property Forum is run by West & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, which also organises similar groups in Leeds and York.

Booth will be assisted by incoming vice-chair Marianne McCallum of Turley Associates.
