Clyde tucks two further multi-million wins under its belt

CLYDE Process Solutions (CPS) has followed its win of a £9.3m order with the win of two further contracts overseas contracts worth £1m each.
The first is a tie-up with a world leading platinum producer secured by CPS’s recently established operating subsidiary in South Africa, Clyde Materials Handling Africa (CMHA).
Doncaster-based CPS specialises in pneumatic conveying and the new order comprises six pneumatic conveying systems, which CMHA will supply, install and commission for the unnamed client.
CMHA was formed last November to grow revenue and market share, particularly within the metals and minerals markets.
CPS said the client aimed to double capacity at one of its South African platinum smelters.
Two of the pneumatic conveying systems will transport platinum concentrate within the customer’s facility, with the four other systems utilised to handle ultra fine dusts, which are generated during the smelting process.
CPS’s pneumatic conveying technology has the ability to reintroduce these harmful and potentially pollutant dusts back into the smelting process.
The second £1m contract, will see fellow CPS subsidiary MAC supply pneumatic conveying, air filtration and process control systems to one of North America’s leading producers of PVC.
These systems will be installed as part of the customer’s petrochemical plant
extension project.
The largest of the four orders secured by MAC comprises of two separate
pneumatic conveying solutions, which will transfer PVC resin from railcars to
storage silos within their production facility.
A process control package will be supplied to monitor and control these systems in addition to an air filtration package used to collect fines from the process.
Alex Stewart, chief executive of CPS, said: “I am delighted that our newly formed South African operating subsidiary has secured such a notable order with the world’s largest platinum producer.
“The relationships that our South African based team has developed in the platinum industry were a significant contributor in securing this order.”
He added: “Our diversification across key customer markets and geographical territories is a strong asset in these challenging trading conditions.
Recent announcements highlighting contract wins within the food, metal and now petrochemical markets are a testament to this strength.”
Last week’s £9.3m order came from one of North America’s leading providers of food ingredients and sugar products.
