Irwin Mitchell flies the flag for Yorkshire dealmakers yet again

THE corporate team at Irwin Mitchell has secured another deal in advising a major petrol distribution company on its acquisition of a smaller rival business.
Mabanaft has completed the unconditional acquisition of Bristol-based Thomas for an undisclosed sum.
London-based Mabanaft is part of the global Marquard & Bahls AG Group – a leading independent involved in the import and wholesale of petroleum products.
Kevin Cunningham, head of corporate, who led a team across Irwin Mitchell’s Sheffield and Leeds offices, said: “This is the latest in a string of deals secured by our Corporate team.
“We are developing a growing reputation with our clients for deal-making and receiving a wide number of referrals and recognition for our work both within and outside the region.”
He added: “The economic climate is tough at the moment, but we continue to see opportunities to attract work by combining technical excellence and high levels of service with straightforward, pragmatic advice.”
Mark Rolph, managing director of Mabanaft, commented: “I am very pleased with this acquisition.
“The devil, as they say, is in the detail. It is Irwin Mitchell’s attention to the detail that has brought this deal to such a successful conclusion.”
Irwin Mitchell has recently advised on separate deals to buyout Sheffield companies Tempered Spring and Ringland Construction as well as the management buyouts of H2H (Leeds) and Driffield based Kingstown Associates.
Mr Cunningham added: “The Corporate team at Irwin Mitchell is showing that there are deals to be done. Yorkshire is very much open for business and investment is available to support the right deals.”
