50 new jobs as Notts care home gets green light

Planning permission for a 66-bed nursing home have been given the go-ahead by Rushcliffe Borough Council.

Ideal Care Homes has been given the green light to build the new home on the site of the former failed Landmere Nursing Home on Ruddington Lane.

Leeds-based Ideal Care Homes will create 50 jobs at the new two-storey facility, which will be built after demolition works are complete. The former Landmere home was shut down in 2013.

The scheme has been developed is developed to enable the care home to provide for two types of care – general residential and residential dementia. Its plan layout and internal arrangement, allow the home to be spilt to provide these separate care requirements.

In a planning statement, LNT Construction of Leeds said: “The development of this site for a care home would have a positive impact in the area by providing a use that would be beneficial in a social, economic and environmental sense and whilst regenerating the site and area fulfill ai identified need for new social care accommodation.”
