A Birmingham firm supplying payroll and accountancy services has expanded after securing a new funding deal.

Ezy Solutions Group, based in Aston, provides outsourced payroll, workforce management and accountancy services to the temporary recruitment sector.

Established in 2015, the firm employs 25 members of staff and is headed by directors Kevin Sharkey and Alex Sutherland.

It has been awarded grant funding from the Business Growth Programme, which is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and managed by Birmingham City Council. The funding is awarded to businesses displaying successful growth rates and employment generation.

In Ezy’s case, this has seen the recruitment of five additional members of staff.

The company also plans to use the money to invest in new software, which will help it monitor customers interacting with its services. The software will also be used as a central hub for the entire Ezy group. This will allow the business to be more scalable and respond more quickly and efficiently to its customers’ needs.

Mr Sutherland said: “We have seen an increase of over 50% in our staff over the past 12 months and we need our systems to keep up with this growth.

“Winning the funding means we can ensure our systems are always one step ahead and allows us to tailor our software which, in turn, will have an exciting and extremely positive impact on not only our further business growth but also our overall service levels and efficiency.”

Cllr Brett O’Reilly, cabinet member for jobs and skills on Birmingham City Council, said: “Ezy Solutions has been very shrewd in utilising this grant funding to speed up growth in the company.

“The new technology that has been introduced will help the company to keep pace with the increase in staffing levels, and also lead to improvements in the customer journey.”

The Business Growth Programme is still open for applications but eligible firms must be based in the areas covered by the Greater Birmingham and Solihull, Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire and The Marches Local Enterprise Partnerships.
