New home for Business Growth Fund

THE Business Growth Fund – the new £2.5bn investment company aimed at boosting growing enterprises – has relocated its offices across Birmingham.

The fund, which was launched in May and initially housed in One Victoria Square, is now based at 45 Church Street in the city’s Colmore Business District.

The BGF is being run by the British Bankers’ Association and aims to help growing businesses with a turnover of between £10m to £100m by investing between £2m and £10m in return for a minimum 10% equity stake and a board seat.

The initiative is being backed by five major banks – Barclays, HSBC, Lloyds, RBS, and Standard Chartered.

The deal to relocate across Birmingham was brokered by joint agents DTZ and GBR Phoenix Beard on behalf of the building’s owners Standard Life Investments.

The BGF has taken 5,000 sq ft on the 11th floor on a 10-year lease.

Other occupiers at the building include Coutts, Mazars, Liberty Mutual Insurance Europe and Jones Lang LaSalle.
