Browne Jacobson advises on care group’s reorganisation

LAW firm Browne Jacobson has advised residential care company Lawton Group on a major re-organisation and re-structuring of its business.

Staffordshire-based Lawton Group is a part of Majesticare, a privately-owned care group that specialises in providing residential, nursing and dementia care for the elderly through its network of nine luxury care homes across the UK.

The Browne Jacobson team was led by head of commercial health Oliver Pritchard, assisted by Birmingham-based lawyer Tina Robinson and her colleague Emma Reid, who works out of the firm’s Nottingham office.

Pritchard said: “We were able to combine substantial private sector commercial expertise with our specialist health sector experience to successfully complete this highly complex reorganisation for the Lawton Group.

“The work over many months involved a multi-disciplinary legal team spanning our two Midlands offices, specialising in corporate finance, commercial health, property and tax all working in unison.

“The streamlining of its group structure is a major strategic step for the Lawton Group which will ensure the business is better prepared for the future.”
