Predictions for 2017: Beauty tech will be the next big thing says Leeds Digital Jobs Fair founder

Amy de Balsi is the founder of digital jobs board Herd and of the Leeds Digital Jobs Fair.

What have been the biggest changes in your industry for 2016?

During 2016 digital in Leeds has become very visible through several projects including: FutureLabs tech hub, Leeds Digital Festival in April and also the first Leeds Digital Job Fairs at the Arena.

What has been your highlight for the year?

Putting 30+ tech companies in the Arena to promote their jobs and the sector. It was a huge gamble but we were supported by great partners including fd Arena, Leeds City Council, Leeds Beckett University and Leeds BID who had faith in us making it work. I can’t believe it was so successful that we ran another in October.

What will be the biggest changes in your industry in 2017 and anything to watch out for in terms of market trends?

More and more industries will be using technology as a key element of their businesses. Health data and beauty tech I think are going to be the next big areas.
