Recruitment firms hits £50m mark

Leicester-headquartered recruitment firm Encore, which recently opened an office in Nottingham, has posted rises in turnover and profit for 2015.
The firm has broken through the £50m turnover bracket – a 20 per cent increase in sales revenue. Net profit also rose by 14 per cent to £1.3m.
Encore managing director Greg Latham said: “We are delighted with our sales figures for the last 12 months, which set 2015 apart as one of our strongest years to date.
“This year’s success is due in part to our excellent team securing large contract wins in our managed service and engineering divisions.
“Maintaining margins across all divisions has enabled major investment in our IT and central infrastructure.”
Encore was was founded in 2002 by Greg Latham, Chris Hockey and Ian Briers.
“After 20 years’ experience in the industry, we decided to create the successful formula of giving priority to staff and protecting margins,” said Latham.
“Our business has gone from strength to strength. Despite an increasingly competitive market place for recruiters, Encore is predicting even more success for both its employees and its clients in 2016.”
Latham says this year’s growth has largely been driven by managed services on client sites. This is where Encore manages all recruitment and people management on sites.
He added: “Over recent months we have had to overcome increased competitor pricing pressures and we have seen a growing skills gap among candidates looking for work. However, despite this we are forecasting even stronger growth in the next 12 months and expect to see sales exceed £60m.”
Encore has nine offices across the country in Nottingham, Telford, Slough, Spalding, Leicester, Coventry, Leeds, Northampton and Birmingham. The firm employs 150 staff and says it is looking for a further 50 hires in 2016.
