Law firm reveals expansion plans

A Nottingham law firm is launching a new service and wants to recruit more staff to deal with growing demand from bosses looking to ensure their businesses are Brexit ready.
OTB Legal is a specialist immigration law firm which helps clients with all aspects of immigration law, from helping national businesses to employ international staff to supporting multi-national companies relocating to the UK and reuniting clients with loved ones.
Now, the company is launching a “20/20 Immigration Health Check” service and says it wants to take on two new members of staff to support it. The firm says the service, which includes a review of the current sponsor licence and immigration systems in place, will leave businesses in no doubt about what they must do to be fully compliant with the law.
OTB Legal director Sally McEwen said: “We are being contacted by bosses and HR teams who are worried about losing their current EU workers and are wanting to know how they can protect them.
“They also want to plan ahead for post 1 January 2021 when the new UK Points Based System will come into force and adjust their recruitment strategy and financial forecasting as required.
“The health check will give them the peace of mind that they are doing everything they need to do legally, and it will guide them through any changes they need to make.”
She added: “With 10 months to go until the free movement ends for EU nationals, my advice to businesses who anticipate recruiting skilled EU workers post 1 January 2021, is to make applying for a sponsor licence their top priority.
“We can assist businesses with this and provide comprehensive training to HR personnel on the sponsor duties imposed by the Home Office as a sponsor licence holder.”
OTB Legal was set up by founding directors Mark Lilley-Tams, Sally McEwen and Aldijana Hoad in April 2019.
