Everards reveals details of second phase of major mixed-use scheme

Local residents and businesses are being invited to view proposals for a second phase of development at Everards Meadows, near Leicester.

Brewery Everards has been developing the Everards Meadows site – located to the south of Leicester near the River Soar and junction 21 of the M1.

Set in 70 acres of green space, the first phase of the scheme includes a new brewery and headquarters for Everards, alongside a beer hall and shop.

Everards will join Jenno’s Coffee House and Rutland Cycling, which opened at Everards Meadows in 2019.

With the first phase of the scheme approaching completion, Everards is now turning its attention to the future, and is sharing its early-stage plans for the second phase of the scheme ahead of submitting a planning application.

Designed by Midlands-based architects, Frankin Ellis Associates, the proposals for phase two include a new hotel and the creation of a high-quality mixed campus, including up to seven new buildings set around a tree-lined square. Occupiers for the campus haven’t yet been confirmed, but the space would be suitable for commercial, educational or health care users, says Everards.

Stephen Gould, managing director of Everards said: “We’ve been excited to see Everards Meadows start to establish itself as a new destination for Leicestershire. The easy access to green space and the quality of the offer has proved hugely popular with local people during the pandemic, and we can’t wait to open our new home.

“We’re very pleased to be sharing our plans for the next phase of development with our neighbours. It has always been our intention to create a successful and sustainable destination which offers a range of different attractions and activities. Our plans for the second phase of Everards Meadows will complement and build upon our success so far, enabling more people to benefit from this beautiful location surrounded by nature.”
