First quarter sales up at 200 Degrees as it looks to hit the north

200 Degrees Coffee, the Nottingham-based coffee roaster and retailer, has posted encouraging first quarter results.
According to hospitality trade title Propel, sales over the period are up 12% – a combination of sales volumes and transaction values rising.
Stephen Fern, managing director, told Propel that 200 Degrees has further expansion plans in the pipeline. He said:
“We have also got two more deals lined up for our next financial year, and one of them will be the furthest north we have so far been
“We’re looking to expand in the north west, Yorkshire, the Midlands and then move down the M5 corridor a little bit and the East Midlands.
“I am off to Market Harborough later this week and we’ve looked at Milton Keynes. We would never say never to any location, but one of the key things is how easy is it to operationalise? How far is it from the head office and how do we make sure we can embed the culture and the values of the business and oversee it from a geographical distance?
“Thankfully, more and more landlords are acknowledging that customers want and deserve something slightly different and slightly better than the bigger players in the market, and we offer that.”
Meanwhile, 200 Degrees will open its West Bridgford coffee shop on Saturday 22 July. It will be the firm’s 20th venue.
