Nottingham Building Society donates £100,000 to local charity to help fight homelessness

Nottingham Building Society has donated £100,000 to Emmanuel House support centre.

This Nottingham charity helps people facing isolation, vulnerability and homelessness and has been fighting homelessness for over four decades.

The donation will help Emmanuel House improve temporary accommodation options and expand its support services.

These services include access to healthcare, advice, training and companionship for individuals at immediate risk of homelessness.

As a part of this partnership, the building society’s team will engage in volunteering activities.

This includes the Winter Shelter program from October to April, where they will prepare and serve meals to shelter residents. They will also organise collections for food, clothing and donations.

Chief executive officer at Nottingham Building Society, Sue Hayes, said: “We are proud to be standing shoulder to shoulder with Emmanuel House in their critical mission to combat homelessness in our community. Our donation marks the beginning of a partnership, and we are committed to collaborating closely to make a positive impact on the lives of those in need. Many of our team have already volunteered for the charity this year, witnessing first-hand the remarkable work done by Emmanuel House in providing support and care to those who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or have previously experienced homelessness. Their experience serves as our inspiration to take action.”
