On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Neil Berry, Shelley Harvey, Liam Hammond and Chris Barlow

National accountancy and business advisory firm MHA, the UK member firm of Baker Tilly International, has promoted Liam Hammond to partner within its Leicester office’s audit team.

Celebrating nearly two decades with the firm, Hammond joined as an audit trainee in 2006 and has steadily progressed through the team leading to a director-level promotion in October 2020 and now partner.

His client portfolio ranges from small owner-managed businesses to large multinational groups across diverse industries and sectors, including distribution and logistics, pharmaceuticals and hospitality.

He also specialises in pension scheme audits, offering knowledge and assurance to trustees and stakeholders.

Shelley Harvey, engagement partner for the Midlands region and fellow audit partner in MHA’s Leicester office said: “Liam’s promotion comes hot on the heels of those of Sally Burford and Sam Hyman-Charlesworth who became audit directors late last year. This trio of promotions is a testament to how MHA, as a people-first-orientated firm, continually develop and nurtures our people to realise their ambitions.”

Hammond said: “From the moment I joined MHA they have supported and developed me throughout my career, identifying my ambitions early on and providing opportunities to progress. I look forward to being able to support the next generation of apprentices and graduates joining MHA as they embark on their careers with the firm.”
