M-EC posts record results

Eddie Mewies and Alex Bennett, M-EC's directors

Consulting development engineers, M-EC has announced record turnover for its sixth year of trading.

The consultancy, which has its head office in Ibstock, Leicestershire launched two further offices in Birmingham and Milton Keynes last year, recorded turnover of £2.55m with pre-tax profit of £430,000 for the year ending 2015, representing a 15% growth.

“2015 was a milestone year for M-EC and our results exceeded expectations,” said managing director, Eddie Mewies. “Expanding into Birmingham and Milton Keynes as well as appointing senior team members to oversee business development required significant investment and has proven to be the right decision. Both offices are operating successfully, working on a variety of projects on behalf of private and public sector clients.

“In addition, our apprenticeship scheme continues to go from strength to strength having taken on four new trainees last year.”

Alex Bennett, director, added: “We’re very proud of our achievements last year, not just in terms of financial growth but also professional development. New recruits, new offices and the new Site Technical Services division ─ which specialises in ground investigation and geo-environmental work ─ required a collective effort rewarded by these results. The Gold Award being the cherry on top.

“This year we hope to strengthen our client base at Birmingham and Milton Keynes, establishing core disciplines before adding services such as noise & air quality, street lighting and structures.” Alex concluded.

M-EC currently employs 48 people.
