This week’s Top 10 stories: Dragon runs out of puff

In a tragic, sobering week on the world stage the news of the business world has provided a small period of solace.
However, this week has shown that even the much-lauded Dragons’ Den stars sometimes come a cropper. This week, Piers Linney’s Outsourcery business was sold out of administration to Lincoln- and Derby-based GCI – thankfully saving the jobs of 100 people. The news that the firm was to be placed into administration was by far our most-read this week.
In second was the news that Bombardier and Porterbrook Leasing had signed a £100m deal. Porterbrook is buying 92 Class 387 Electrostar vehicles from Bombardier which are in addition to a previous order placed for a similar value back in October last year. Derby’s rail sector continues on exactly the right track.
Leicester City are stepping up in the world, and in third this week was the news that the Foxes are on the hunt for an in-house lawyer to deal with everything that being Premier League Champions brings with it. You never quite associate the world of law with glamour, but this might be as close as it gets.
Have a great weekend.
