Perky Peckers rise to the occasion for Leicester firm

A Leicestershire-based egg producer is celebrating after selling more than one million of its Perky Peckers.

When Sunrise Eggs launched their Perky Peckers range they freely admitted it was only “a bit of fun.”

But now, after selling more than one million six-egg packs the Sileby company’s light hearted gamble is paying big dividends.

“It was a bit of a tongue-in-cheek introduction to our range,” admits Commercial Manager Chris Stocks. “We know the name’s a bit cheeky, but our contented Free Range hens have certainly done their job well and produced tasty, fresh and healthy eggs, that have been well received.”

In addition to the Perky Peckers brand, the Sunrise Eggs range includes locally produced Leicestershire, Shropshire, East Anglian and Midlands Farms Free Range, and Fresh ‘n’ Tasty, Big British and Big Ten enriched colony eggs.

“Overall, we pack approximately four million eggs a week and they’re sold everywhere from major supermarket chains to local shops,” added Stocks.

Sunrise Eggs are Lion (BEIC) approved producers and packers. Over 90% of all eggs sold in the UK.
