A new business has opened at MediCity on the Boots Enterprise zone in Nottingham bringing with it 10 new jobs for the city.

Touchstone Health and Wellbeing Centres allow individuals to take health and wellbeing into their own hands by offering support services that combine physical exercise, social interaction and mental stimulation by using new, ground breaking technology. This advanced combination of equipment and virtual technologies is a world first.

Local law firm Fraser Brown worked with the team to provide real estate and franchise advice and helped Touchstone secure its place at MediCity.

Chief executive of Touchstone, John West, said: “Launching our new business in Nottingham made perfect sense to myself and the team, not only its central location and pool of talented professionals, but the unique offer at MediCity.

“With the help of Fraser Brown, we moved in during July and started a high spec fit-out. In the short time we have been onsite, we have already forged beneficial relationships with other like-minded health and wellbeing businesses. MediCity is an excellent facility which fits perfectly with our brand and we are proud to be a part of it.”

The opening of the Touchstone Health and Wellbeing Centre has brought 10 new jobs to Nottingham but this is due to increase as the firm’s client base grows and the franchise opportunity takes off.

Operations director for Touchstone, George Stylianou, said: “We have recruited the majority of our fully trained staff from both The University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University as we felt it important to create jobs for local, talented people.

“Nottingham has already been very good to us, not only in the relationships we have built within MediCity and at Fraser Brown but we also received funding from the N2 Growth Fund which has helped us create our vision. I’m looking forward to our official launch in October and to growing our unique business within the East Midlands.”

Fiona Boswell, head of commercial services at Fraser Brown, said: “MediCity is a world renowned facility for new health and wellbeing businesses to thrive and I’m really pleased Touchstone has secured its rightful place there. The brand is innovative and backed up by a driven team who I’m sure will find great success in the Enterprise Zone.

“It’s an exciting time for Touchstone, not only launching a new business but one that is available as a franchise. With the team’s experience and dedication, I’m sure it won’t be too long before we see further centres opening across the UK.”
