Notts County in talks with family member of former New York Yankees owners

Notts County are in talks to sell the club with a consortium led by a member of the billionaire family who used to own the New York Yankees baseball team, according to reports.
Sky Sports say that Joseph Molloy, the former managing partner of the Yankees, is heading up the consortium
Rumours were circulating yesterday (14 November) that the baseball team’s parent company, Yankee Global Enterprises, were about to make a bid for the Magpies.
However, a spokesperson for the Yankees poured cold water on the rumours yesterday – but didn’t rule out a deal to take County under American ownership, adding that it was possible that an individual with a minority stake in the Yankees could make an offer for the football club.
The development is the latest twist in a saga which can be traced back to February when Trew first put the club up for sale. Earlier this month it was rumoured that local entrepreneur Alan Hardy was interested in buying County.
The Magpies were beaten 4-0 by Blackpool at the weekend and are in 8th place in League Two.
