On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

The sixth generation of family-owned funeral directors G Wathall & Son in Derby and Ashbourne have joined the business.
Bec and Charlotte Wathall, who both live in Ashbourne and are former pupils of Queen Elizabeth Grammar School in the town, have joined the business – working alongside their mother and company managing director Helen Wathall.
Bec (23) has joined as Helen’s personal assistant, while Charlotte (19) is a trainee funeral arranger.
Helen Wathall said: “I am delighted that both Bec and Charlotte have decided to join us at G Wathall & Son to help take the business forward.
“We are extremely proud of our heritage as a family-owned business and it is wonderful that the next generation see their future in this profession.
“I know that my father Bill would have been particularly proud of them both and in seeing that the traditional values, coupled with ambitions to modernise our operations to reflect customers’ wishes, will be developed in future years.”
Derbyshire businessman Ian Snow has been invited to join the Board of Trustees at local charity Ashgate Hospicecare.
Snow, who is managing director of award-winning managed IT and Telecoms provider Central Technology (CT), will offer time, support and business experience to promote the hospice, to help raise funds.
CT will also help to build general IT knowledge among hospice staff, to assist with the smoother running of the organisation.
The hospice is an independent registered charity that provides care to patients across North Derbyshire at the hospice, in the community and at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.
Snow said: “Ashgate Hospicecare is an amazing place, an indispensable local facility and a fantastic cause to be involved with.
“I am delighted to have been asked to be a trustee and I am looking forward to getting involved on many different levels.
“The organisation is close to the hearts of many of our team here at CT and already, we have seen several staff members offering time to support the cause.”
