Traffic alert: Long delays on M1 in Leicestershire
Motorists are being warned of long delays on the M1 in Leicestershire this morning because of a stranded HGV.
Highways England is reporting there are currently long tailbacks on the M1 southbound between J22 and J21 due to a stranded HGV between J21A and J21.
Two of the four lanes on the M1 are currently closed and a recovery operation is currently underway.
Highways England says traffic heading south on the M1 may wish to consider using the M42 J23A to M6 J19 to avoid the congestion.
