112 Meadows homes set to get green light

Nottingham City Council’s Planning Committee is expected to give the go ahead for a 112-house development on the Meadows Estate in Nottingham this afternoon.

The houses, around the Arkwright Walk and Blackstone Walk area of the Meadows, will inclde 78 houses and 34 two-bedroom apartments and is a private housing scheme to be built by Keepmoat Homes.

Some 148 houses across eight plots have been demolished to make way for the new scheme.

BM3 Architects has been appointed to design the homes.

For some years Arkwright Walk has been blocked as a through route by a section of land which formed the parking and play area for the Crocus Field Children’s Home. Planning permission was granted in May 2015 for the relocation of these facilities to allow Arkwright to be re-opened as a through route to pedestrians and cyclists. This work is nearing completion.
