52 jobs to be created as trampoline park gets green light

Some 52 jobs are set to be created at a trampoline park in Nottingham after the City Council gave the green light for a former industrial unit to be redeveloped.

Red Kangaroo have been given the go-ahead to develop the site on the Blenheim Industrial Estate despite objections from Intu, the owner of the Broadmarsh shopping centre in the city centre, which said it could affect any planned development there.

The 36,285 sq ft building was previously let to Mr Wardrobe, but has vacant since November 2014 when the business went into receivership.

Now, Red Kangaroo says it will spend £1.2m on transforming the building with 130 trampolines.

Red Kangaroo is a new Trampoline Park group with plans to roll out across the UK, established by the founder of TeamSport, the nationwide Karting operator. The company has 17 venues throughout the UK.

Savills acted for Red Kangaroo on the deal. A planning statement from the firm says: “The development proposal offers the opportunity to secure sustainable employment
generation and economic growth within the area, with a use that is most suited to industrial locations such as this.”
