On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Mazars has appointed VAT manager, Gareth Jones, and audit senior manager, Louise Garcia.
Alistair Wesson, East Midlands managing partner at Mazars, said: “It’s so great to welcome both Louise and Gareth to the team. This year we have already attracted quite a few new recruits, but these latest additions will strengthen our offering here in the region even more, adding further value and support to our clients.
“These are very exciting times for our East Midlands team who have gone from strength to strength over the past year and we’re all looking forward to even more great things in the year to come.”
Law firm Shakespeare Martineau has added to its real estate offering in Leicester with the appointment of a commercial property partner.
Mark Oldershaw
Mark Oldershaw makes the move following stints with national firms Freeths and Gately Plc and having spent nearly nine years at Howes Percival, where he headed up its retail law practice. He joins Shakespeare Martineau’s 96-strong office located at Colton Square and will be responsible for continuing the growth of the existing team, while expanding the firm’s property and logistics practices further.
Oldershaw said: “It’s not every day that an opportunity like this comes up, and joining a firm with such significant growth plans in the pipeline is an exciting prospect.
“The real estate landscape has undergone a lot of change recently, so there’s a growing need for property law services not only in the East Midlands but country-wide. I look forward to working with the team to support the existing client base through these changes and growing the real estate practice further.”
