17 jobs saved as haulier sold in pre-pack deal

A Northampton haulage firm has been bought of administration, saving 17 jobs.

Tingley Transport Services, which is based on the Westgate Industrial Estate, has been sold in a pre-pack deal. The firm called in administrators from UHY Hacker Young on 16 December after it struggled to pay one of its creditors.

Peter Kubik, partner at UHY Hacker Young, said that the business had encountered difficulties paying one of its creditors due to a downturn in sales. The downturn in sales is largely related to the weak economy.

The business has now been sold in a pre-packaged sale. The pre-packaged sale ensured that job losses were prevented.
