Bunzl snaps up Northampton packaging firm

Bunzl, the international distribution and outsourcing Group, has bought a Northants packaging firm.

Woodway is a supplier of both packaging products and solutions to a variety of end user customers in a number of market sectors throughout the UK. Based in Northampton, the business specialises in supporting the e-commerce activities of customers operating in the retail supplies sector. Revenue in the year ended 30 June 2016 was £31m.

Frank van Zanten, chief executive of Bunzl, said: “In addition to supplying high quality packaging products, Woodway provides bespoke value-added services to its customers through a specialist technical services team who are able to work in collaboration with customers to offer a total solution for their packaging needs. This expertise will be invaluable as we look to expand and develop our retail supplies business in the UK.”
