Leicestershire musical instrument manufacturer enters administration

A Leicestershire manufacturer of percussion instruments has slipped into administration puttingb 20 jobs at risk.
Percussion Plus, which was set up in 1987, has called in administrators from Antony Batty & Company of London to run the company.
The firm, which is run by Lindsay Cobbett, is based on the Welland Business Park in Market Harborough. From its factory it manufacturers percussion instruments by hand for the UK and overseas markets. The firm is renowned for being a leading supplier to the education sector.
Cobbett, along with her late husband, bought the business in 2008 from Findel when it was making a loss. It manufacturers 1,000 lines – roughly half of which are made in Market Harborough.
The firm’s latest available accounts to 31 March 2016 show it owing £182,000 to creditors.
