Digital agency leaps into Frog Island

An East Midlands digital agency has completed a deal to purchase a property in the Frog Island area of Leicester.

Anicca Digital, currently based on King Street, has invested over £300,000 in the former Cricketers’ Rest pub building on the corner of the A50 on Abbey Gate in Frog Island. The deal, which is part of a £1m project on behalf of the company, will see the two-storey building transformed into an office space, complete with co-working space, meeting rooms and training area.

Anicca Digital has invested in the project to meet current and future plans for growth. The agency, which has seen turnover increase by over 100% since 2015, is predicting similar growth in 2017 and 2018. Staff numbers have increased from 17 to 27 in 2016-17, with two graduate trainees from De Montfort University and Nottingham Trent University, one apprentice and a social media executive the most recent to join the company.

Ann Stanley, managing director of Anicca Digital, said: “We are really excited to complete the first phase of our project to buy, renovate and move into our own offices. Frog Island was a natural choice for us, being a part of the regeneration of the riverside area and with great access to the A50, we wanted a property that had a great view of the river and that we could invest in.”

The project is anticipated to take over 12 months to complete before Anicca can move into the offices.
