Housebuilder reveals plans to build 650 homes

Miller Homes Midlands has announced plans to build around 650 new homes in the region.

The properties will be spread across seven new sites in the Midlands, all of which are planned to launch within the next 12 months.

The housebuilder currently has 10 developments in the East Midlands, with an additional site planned for Nottinghamshire and two for Derbyshire during the year ahead.

Miller Homes has acquired land in the towns of Southwell and Ashbourne, as well as the village of Littleover, where work is due to start during the next six months. There will also be 52 new homes built at the existing Stretton Glen site in Leicestershire, 75 properties at Repton in Derbyshire and 72 homes at Langley Country Park near Derby.

Five new developments are also planned for the West of the region, with sites earmarked for Staffordshire and Warwickshire.

Alastair Parsons, sales director at Miller Homes Midlands, said: “With seven new sites planned across the Midlands this is going to be a busy year for Miller Homes and will open up a whole host of opportunities for buyers. Last year was very successful for the company and lots of people were able to put down roots by purchasing new homes with us. It looks strongly as though the trend will continue into the coming year.

“We are bringing new homes to some wonderful locations in the East Midlands. Southwell is a charming, historical town that enjoys the best of rural Nottinghamshire, yet is nicely situated for commuters. Our two new Derbyshire developments will also hold strong appeal as they’re set close to open countryside and are just a short drive from the outstanding natural beauty of the Peak District National Park.”
