On the move: the latest East Midlands hires
Leicester-based Xibis has appointed a second business development manager to join its team of 18 staff.
Ismail Akudi brings around 10 years’ experience in the IT industry to his new role. He began his career in technical roles and transitioned into business development and sales. He has worked for both large organisations such as computer technology giant, Oracle Corporation, and smaller, innovative companies.
Xibis has been developing bespoke software solutions since 1998 and recent customers include Imray – the leading publisher of nautical charts, books and apps, Touchpoint – a specialist in employee benefits communication, and trentbarton – one of the largest independent bus operators in the UK.
Akudi said: “My role is a strategic one, pivotal to the growth of Xibis. It centres on developing the business by identifying and managing new business opportunities, acquiring new customers, and communicating and selling additional products or services to existing ones. I’ll also be identifying and creating partnerships that will help to drive revenue.
“I’m excited to join Xibis because it’s such a vibrant and innovative company. I wanted to be part of an organisation at the cutting edge of the technology that we use in so many aspects of our lives (often without realising). Xibis is a real innovator in web and app development, IoT, bespoke software, augmented reality, virtual reality and much more in a wide variety of industry sectors.”
Lincolnshire-based IT specialist Datcom has promoted Alex Middleton from IT engineer to account manager.

In her new position, Alex will still be working face to face with clients but with much more responsibility for customer orientation and satisfaction.
She said: “It feels great to be promoted. Luckily, I already knew most of our clients as I was part of the first line engineers team and I have a strong customer service background. Moving into the new position seemed like a perfect opportunity for me.”
