Student scheme linked with Nottingham restaurant and bar expansion

Self-styled cocktails and wings restaurant and bar Bunk could be about to open its third branch in Nottingham city centre.

A company called Bunk (Wollaton Street) Limited has applied for a drinks and entertainments licence for the lower ground floor of the Hydrogen Building, the student apartment development next to the Theatre Royal in Nottingham city centre. The company shares the same directors as the Bunk Group.

If Bunk moves in, it will be the brand’s third outlet following venues in Stoney Street and Lower Parliament Street.

David Hargreaves, director at FHP, told TheBusinessDesk.com: “There has been ongoing interest in the commercial units of the Hydrogen building, but this is not surprising – given its close proximity to Nottingham Trent University and the student population of Nottingham.

“Conversations are currently underway with potential tenants, and terms have already been agreed with a Chinese supermarket to take a section of the ground floor, and a bar/restaurant for the basement level.”

Bunk were unavailable for comment.
