Nottingham consultants complete £4m lab job

Nottingham consultancy firm Clegg Group has completed works worth £4m to transform a property in Livingston into high-tech laboratories for Eurofins.
World leaders in pharmaceutical, food, feed and environmental testing, Eurofins will be using the new laboratory to test water and pharmaceutical products.
Around 40% of the overall 58,000 sq ft property has been developed, with plans to expand further over the next three years. As part of the five month-long renovation, Clegg Group also created high-end staff facilities including office space and staff amenities.
The new laboratory building is part of Eurofins’ plans for growth, specifically developing its pharma offering and GMP testing capabilities in the UK, as customer demand continues to rise.
“Previously we have been providing water testing in Glasgow and pharma testing in Edinburgh,” said Alison Clayton, general manager at Eurofins.
“The new site in Livingston will house the two functions and replace these two sites, forming a high-end chemistry and microbiology testing centre of excellence.
“We’re really excited about the new development and the next stage in business growth. We’ve been very impressed with the works completed by the Clegg Group – we appointed them due to their expertise and experience and they proved to be incredibly proactive and solution orientated.”
The project marks the first time Clegg Group has worked for the food and pharma testing leaders and is one of a growing number of laboratories that the specialist design and construction firm has developed.
John Moxon, business development director at Clegg Group said: “We’re seeing an increasing demand for our expertise in the developments of laboratories.
“We’re thrilled with the results and proud to work on such a major development for a company that is so well-regarded in its sector.”
