Gin o’clock for NG Chartered Surveyors as deal opens new bar
Nottingham’s bar scene has been given a boost after a property deal to bring forward a new gin bar in the city.
Gincident has opened at 46 Friar Lane in Nottingham, following a deal brokered by Jonathon Seddon, director at NG Chartered Surveyors.
Seddon, who acted on behalf of the landlord of the premises, said: “Friar Lane is going through a real renaissance at present, and we’re glad to have helped Gincident be part of this.
“This is an area of the city centre which is on the up, and Gincident joins some great other independent retailers such as The Specialty Coffee Shop and Kitty Cafe – along with larger operators such as Bierkeller, to create a real buzz.
“I’d urge any other bar or restaurant owner looking to move into the city centre to contact us as demand is now very strong indeed.”
Gincident, which will create five jobs, will boast a “Ginventory” of 101 different gins including an exclusive range from black powder gin, monthly guest gins, a range of cocktails, wine, prosecco and champagne and two premium draught lagers.
Gincident marks a third venture for its directors, who also run the Three Crowns pub in Ruddington and BarSix wine and cocktail bar in the village, and have been on the expansion trail for some time.
John Noble of Gincident, said: “We had been looking for somewhere small in Nottingham for a while, constantly searching the net for commercial property for let.
“We came across 46 Friar Lane and arranged a viewing with NG Chartered Surveyors. After that we spoke with Nottingham Police to see if they would support a premises licence application for alcohol. Once they came back and said they would, we got the ball rolling.
“Jonathan handled the lease and heads of terms and kept everyone in the loop with communication. We applied for both a premises license and a change of use.
“All this went through smoothly and the lease was signed so we could get keys and get underway.”
Neil Wild, director at landlord Project Ferry (No2), said: “We selected Gincident because we believe the business will add really positively to the range of businesses on Friar Lane.
“We found working with NG and the joint agent, Innes England, to be a positive experience.
