QUAD’s BlockBustler set to launch
QUAD has announced its new project ‘BlockBustler’ – a partnership with Bustler Market.
BlockBustler will involve immersive film screenings at Bustler Market at Bondholder Derby’s Riverlights. Guests will be encouraged to attend in costume, with live entertainment, street food, bars and a few other surprises.
The first event, taking place on October 31st, will be Derby’s first Day of the Dead-themed party. Based on the Mexican “Dia de los Muertos” festival, the chosen film will be From Dusk til Dawn, a cult B-movie, starring George Clooney, Harvey Keitel, Quentin Tarantino and Salma Hayek.
Adam Marsh, QUAD Cinema programmer, said, “It’s a great opportunity to be working with the Bustler Market on this event. The film From Dusk ‘Til Dawn is Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino’s genre mashup about two criminal brothers on the run after a bank heist gone wrong, starring George Clooney, Harvey Keitel, Juliette Lewis and Salma Hayek.”
Stuart Costen, Bustler Market, said: “We are really excited to launch BlockBustler with QUAD, Derby’s independent Cinema and Gallery. We think that Day of the Dead, at Halloween, is a great opportunity for people in Derby to do something a little different, get dressed up and have some fun. We look forward to this being the first in a series of events throughout the year.”
