On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Jo Wilbraham and Justine Flack

Law firm Howes Percival has appointed Joanne Wilbraham as a solicitor in its Leicester Family Law team.

Wilbraham specialises in all areas of family law including separation, divorce, financial proceedings, arrangements for children and cohabitation matters. She is a member of Resolution and strives to achieve the best outcome for her clients using a conciliatory approach. She joins Howes Percival from niche family law firm, Glynis Wright and Co.

Justine Flack, head of the Family Law team in Leicester said: “I am delighted to welcome Joanne to Howes Percival, she’s a really strong addition to the team. Joanne is very client focused and likes to tailor her approach to meet the needs of clients on an individual basis.

“Our Family Team has a powerful offering in the East Midlands, in particular in the area of financial advice on divorce and relationship breakdown. We have developed a specific expertise in complex financial cases particularly those involving businesses, offshore assets, pensions and jurisdictional issues. We’ve also seen a marked increase in cases where couples are looking to protect themselves and their assets through cohabitation agreements or ‘pre-nups’.”

Daryll Garavan

Vocational training professional Daryll Garavan has been promoted to the role of delivery manager for confined spaces, water and environmental at Develop Training Ltd (DTL).

Based at DTL’s Derby headquarters, Garavan joined the business in 2010, first in administration and customer service roles where he introduced new efficiency initiatives, before joining the business development team where he developed key client relationships.

His new role will see him taking the experience he has gained across the company to manage training delivery for DTL clients, including some of the UK’s biggest names in construction, utilities, energy and FM.

Garavan’s appointment is part of DTL’s strategy to provide customers in the water industry, including Northumbrian Water, Severn Trent Water and Thames Water, with tailored training that meets high quality standards.

John Kerr, operations director at DTL, said: “Daryll has built up an in-depth understanding of DTL’s strengths and our opportunities for improvement. He is already working with stakeholders in the water industry to promote the value of the professional training and consultancy offered by his team.”

Garavan said: “I am looking forward to developing in this new role, especially focusing on customer satisfaction and introducing new approaches to training.”
